Here we see a vintage Velvet doll with her long blond hair hidden. That's because she's dressed in a nurse's scrubs for this photo: a short-sleeved V-neck grey cotton shirt and grey cotton pants with an elastic waist.

Free Patterns and Tutorials for #Vintage Velvet #Dolls Pants and Shirt @ ChellyWood.com

As you can see in the image above, the pants pattern I’m providing today fits your vintage Velvet doll like a pair of “ankle pants” rather than full-length trousers. The shirt is a bit of a tight fit too, considering that Velvet dolls have that hair-growing knob in their backs. But here’s a rear view of the shirt, so you can see that I did … Continue reading Free Patterns and Tutorials for #Vintage Velvet #Dolls Pants and Shirt @ ChellyWood.com

The image shows a BFC Ink doll standing next to a Hearts for Hearts Girl (Consuelo). They both wear felt shirts with no sleeves. The BFC Ink doll's clothes can be described like this: white felt sleeveless top with blue plaid skirt that has knife pleats. The skirt is knee-length on the BFC Ink doll. The Hearts4Hearts doll's clothes can be described thus: pink sleeveless top with knee-length polka dot skirt. The image is part of a hashtag tape measure Tuesday measurements comparison on ChellyWood.com, which is meant to help doll clothes sewists / seamstresses with doll measurements for sewing projects. The image should be compared to another similar image toward the bottom of the blog post, in which the two dolls stand side by side again, but wearing each other's clothing in a clothes swap.

Let’s measure BFC Ink #dolls on #TapeMeasureTuesday and compare to a 14″ #doll

This week’s sewing project not only fits the little 14 inch (35.5 cm) Hearts for Hearts Girls, but surprisingly, it can also fit the 18 inch (45 cm) tall BFC Ink dolls. How can this be possible? Here are the sewing measurements for both dolls: BFC Ink Neck circumference… 9.5 cm Neck to shoulder seam… 3 cm Bust… 20.4 cm Collar to true waist… 8 … Continue reading Let’s measure BFC Ink #dolls on #TapeMeasureTuesday and compare to a 14″ #doll

The image shows Consuelo, one of the Hearts for Hearts Girls, wearing a handmade skirt with lace trim and a bright yellow blouse with lace trim and a "scalloped-look" rickrack trim around the bottom of the shirt and the edges of the sleeves of the shirt. The neckline of the shirt is square. The doll stands in an outdoor garden near a brick wall. At the bottom of the image, we see a watermark telling where you can go to download the free printable sewing patterns for making these doll clothes: ChellyWood.com

Hearts4Hearts Girls: measure your #doll for this week’s #raincoat #sewing project

These lovely little Hearts4Hearts dolls are super fun to pose for the camera because they have more articulation than some of the other dolls in the 14-inch size range. These dolls are also connected to humanitarian aide. For each H4H doll purchased, the company donates a portion of their proceeds to World Vision, a global humanitarian organization. This image shows a Hearts for Hearts (H4H or Hearts4Hearts) girl (doll) wearing a hand-made raincoat with a hood. The raincoat uses piping along the front placket, the opening for the hood, and the sleeves. The front placket offers a double-breasted looks, although it's actually sealed with Velcro. The topstitching on the front placket has pairs of tiny pink buttons running down the front of the coat. Inside the hood, we see a peek of pink cotton fabric with a London-themed print, which was used to line the coat with cotton lining. This hooded rain coat is made of Polyester, which gives it a plastic-like sheen and the doll's eyes shine brightly out from under the hood of her coat. The watermark says, "ChellyWood.com" and suggests that the website has free printable patterns and tutorials.
