Today’s free printable PDF downloadable sewing pattern includes two different lengths of skirts, a short-sleeved shirt, a long-sleeved shirt, a sleeveless shirt, and a purse. Tomorrow I’ll post the tutorial video showing you how to make the long-sleeved shirt.

Last week you got my free printable patterns for the capri pants and ankle pants, as well as the felt dress with eyelet trim. Click here to look back at last week’s pattern.

Now for this week’s pattern:

This week’s free printable sewing pattern will fit most 8″ or 9″ dolls and some slender-bodied 10″ or 11″ dolls as well. (That would mean dolls ranging from 20 cm to almost 23 cm tall.)

If you’re wondering whether or not this week’s sewing patterns will fit your dolls, feel free to leave a question in the comments below. If I can answer your questions, I will. A lot of times that just depends upon whether or not I own the same doll and can try the clothes on her.

To get ideas about how you might begin sewing a whole wardrobe for your 8-inch / 9-inch / 10-inch / 11-inch small-bodied dolls, please look back at Monday’s post, where you can see some of the outfits I’ve already made with today’s free doll clothes pattern.

    1. Hi Diane. I don’t have any Tiny Thumbelina doll clothes patterns at this time, but other people have requested them too. I will have to look into buying a doll so I can fashion some doll clothes patterns for Tiny Thumbelina one day.

    1. Currently I don’t own an 8″ Madame Alexander doll; I also don’t have an 8″ Ginny doll (which has a similar body type). However I frequent second hand stores and yard sales in my area, and these two dolls are on my radar for a future purchase.

The pattern that I DO have and would recommend you try, is my 8-inch baby doll pattern with felt bodice. A lot of people are not aware of how forgiving felt can be when you’re designing doll clothes. I almost always sew my prototype patterns using felt before I sew using cotton. That way I can make adjustments, but my prototype is still usable because the felt is so flexible on the doll’s body. Felt actually stretches nicely to fit the doll.

So try making this doll dress, using felt for the bodice and cotton for the skirt. Try it on your doll, and if you like the way it fits, you can attempt to sew additional patterns from the 8″ baby doll clothes pattern collection on my website. Best of luck to you!

  1. Do you have any patterns for the 8 inch American Girls Caring for baby doll?
