Out of the Office and Recommendations for Sewing Room Remodel Ideas from This Week’s #FridayFollow #Porch

The image shows the OOAK Liv Doll "Chelly Wood" at her computer in her tiny dolly diorama office. Behind her is a painting of ballerinas by Degas. The overlay says, Fan Mail and offers the at symbol followed by the URL ChellyWood.com, a website where there are hundreds of free, printable sewing patterns for doll clothes to fit dolls of many shapes and sizes. This is the YouTube header for what one might call "Barbie fan mail opening" or stop motion fan mail reading. It's a stop motion video of the Chelly Wood doll discussing her fan mail, reading it out loud, and showing a video of Barbie dolls modeling the hand-made dresses that one of Chelly Wood's fans created using Chelly Wood's own free doll clothes patterns (printable on the ChellyWood.com website).
Please visit ChellyWood.com for FREE printable sewing patterns for dolls of many shapes and sizes.

Sorry everyone, but I’m about to take a wee little vacation. I do get fan mail every day or so, and that’s why I thought I’d give everyone a heads up about my absence.

To keep you entertained while I’m away, I’m recommending that you visit an article on a website called Porch in which author Daniela Gonzalez gives you tips to help you “Create Your Own Sewing Room, and Start a New Hobby.” Click on that link to read all about it.

Just to give you some idea of the topic, here’s a quote from Daniela’s article: “No sewing room is complete without a sewing machine, so make this the room’s focal point. You’ll also need a comfortable chair for sitting at the sewing machine or the table. A large table with plenty of elbow room will make it easier to layout fabrics, make cuts, and spread out all of your sewing notions. Storage furniture, like shelves or cabinets, is also vital for keeping everything neat and organized…”

I totally agree. The sewing machine should be the focal point of a sewing room, and table space is super important too.

But as I said, I’ll be away from my sewing room for a while, so please understand if I don’t approve comments or reply to your emails in a timely fashion in the coming weeks.

Normally, I like to answer my Submit a Question forms before a week has passed; however while I’m on vacation, your Submit a Question requests will be placed in a sort of “holding bin” until I return. I’ll answer questions in the order in which I received them, when I get back.

Want to follow my vacation online? I’ll likely post my sewing adventures on my Instagram account.

Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy a few sewing adventures of your own!
