This week’s sewing project: make a doll’s apron w/ pockets! #amsewing #dollcrafts

This image shows a handmade apron for 11 to 12 inch fashion dolls like Barbie, Liv Dolls, Queens of Africa and Poppy Parker. The apron has three front pockets, a ribbon that ties the apron in the back, and a snap closure at the neck of the apron. The fabric of the apron is a pink checkerboard while the pockets are a solid pink fabric. Those of you who are regular ChellyWood.com or ChellyWood1 followers are already familiar with the blue apron that the Chelly Wood doll wears in the opening and closing sequence of many of my doll clothes sewing videos.

In that opening and closing sequence, the Chelly Wood doll wears a blue apron with yellow ribbons to tie it in back and at the neck.

Well, guess what…

The image shows the royal blue apron worn by the Chelly Wood doll in her stop motion doll videos. The apron's ribbon has become detached.

The blue apron shown in the image above has been used so much, that it has finally fallen apart!

It’s time for a new apron!

This week I’m going to show you how to make the pink checkerboard apron for 11″ to 12″ fashion dolls shown in the image at the top and bottom of this blog post. You’ll get a free printable PDF sewing pattern for making this new apron, and you’ll get to watch a new tutorial video showing you how to make this apron.

For St. Patrick’s Day, I’ll also revisit the pattern for my shamrock purse this week, on Tuesday. Watch for this image or one like it on Tuesday:

The image shows a pretty fashion doll purse in green, white, black, and yellow. The strap of the doll's purse has green and white stripes. The body of the purse is made of black fabric decorated with green and yellow shamrocks. It's just the right size for 11" to 12" fashion dolls like BarbieDolls, Liv Dolls, Poppy Parkers, Skippers, Francies, Midges, and similar-sized dolls. There's a sign above the purse that says where you can find and download the free printable PDF sewing pattern for this dolls' purse: ChellyWood.com
