In this photograph, we see a Barbie doll dressed in a Renaissance ball gown with detached, lace-up sleeves. The gown is made of teal blueish green cotton fabric, and it is decorated with tiny flowers in a Renaissance tapestry style. Her undergarment -- a Renaissance or medieval shift dress with long sleeves, is burgundy, to match some of the burgundy colored flowers in the print of the dress. She wears a burgundy colored tiara hat with a renaissance style hat made of cotton and tulle with elastic to hold it in place. The hat is much like a tiara in the way it fits, with tulle splayed all around the head in lacy ruffles. The doll holds a medieval or Renaissance period stringed instrument (it's actually of Japanese origin). She stands in a marketplace beside a wooden crate and a straw wheeled basket. She appears to be selling pottery, balls of yarn, and logs of firewood. The ChellyWood.com logo floats above the scene in the upper left hand corner of the photo. This is a photo from one of the stop motion action scenes in Chelly Wood's production of "Romeo and Juliet with Dolls." The character of Rosaline speaks with a male member of the Capulet household. Rosaline wears a burgundy colored cotton and tulle colored tiara style Renaissance hat. The tiara's tulle is splayed in ruffled layers across the top of the doll's long, spiral-curly blond hair. The doll also wears a beautiful blue-green and burgundy Renaissance gown with detached, lace-up sleeves. Beside her, the male character from the Capulet household is played by a female Barbie doll wearing male Renaissance garb, including a doublet-style jacket (like the Three Musketeers would have worn), a bright green tunic, and green pants with knee-high boots. She also wears a Renaissance hat much like the three musketeers would have worn. They stand in the marketplace scene from Romeo and Juliet with Dolls, under the banner of the Montague household.
