I’ve created another fabric on Spoonflower. Can you vote for it please? #Challenge #SewingLove

I’m still on Vacation. As I type this, I’m in a hotel room in San Dimas, California. So to keep things simple while I’m away, I’ve created some short videos of me painting honeymoon hibiscus flowers.

Before I left on this vacation, I used some painting software to remove the white background from behind the flowers I painted, adding leaves in abundance (also these leaves are some I painted), to create a fabric that looked like honeymoon hibiscus flowers in a green hibiscus bush.

On a purple background, the text reads "VOTE!" and it shows a person's hand dropping a ballot into a voting box.

If you don’t mind, please go to the Hothouse Florals design challenge page on Spoonflower to vote for my “Hothouse Honeymoon Hibiscus” fabric design.

Here’s what the design ended up looking like after I was all done painting and tweaking it on my digital software:

A page from the Spoonflower website has been screenshot so it shows Chelly Wood's designs for fabric, wallpaper, and a tea towel. The design has a bright green leafy background dotted with large roundish honeymoon hibiscus flowers in blood red. They each have a tiny yellow stamen or pistil painted in the middle of each flower. They are surrounded with green leaves. The Chelly Wood dot com logo appears on one side of the screenshot.

Here’s the page you go to when you want to cast your votes. Voting closes May 5th. My design is titled “Hothouse Honeymoon Hibiscus in Red and Green.”

You have to weed through the pages to find my design because they change the order of the designs for every new visitor. Also, in order for your vote to count, I think you have to vote for 5 different designs before hitting the final “Submit my votes” button.

Thank you for considering it. It would be so awesome if I returned from my trip to discover that I’ve won a challenge!

Thumbnail shows a blue silhouette of a cityscape in the background with a rock formation in the foreground. Between the city and the rock lies a suspension bridge, like one might see in Portland, Vancouver, or Seattle. The sun looks blackened out (or perhaps its a moon) to match the turquoise blue of the city scene. The Chelly Wood dot com logo appears in the lower right corner of the image. This blog post is about a trip taken by Chelly Wood on her retirement vacation.
