So many of you have contributed to my ever-growing list of requests for doll clothes patterns, and I’m mentioning you in this announcement about the class I’ll be teaching with Creative Spark‘s online platform.
We still don’t know how much the class will cost, but shorter classes tend to be less expensive than longer ones on the platform. So as I build my videos for the class, I’ll try to keep them short.
The class will teach you how to design your own doll clothes using my super simple methods.
I hope some of you are getting excited about this opportunity! Here’s something to think about… since the class won’t be offered until December of 2021 or January of 2022, consider asking a family member to sign you up for the course as a Christmas gift (for those of you who do celebrate Christmas).
If there’s a concept you’d like to learn during the class, feel free to leave that idea in the comments. I’m still working on my class syllabus, so there’s room for ideas!
I am so excited for this course. I have 28″ Wispy Walker dolls. I’ve been able to make pants and shorts for them using your 28″ doll patterns, but the shirts don’t quite fit this doll. Looking forward to learning how to create my own patterns for them! Thanks so much for all that you do!
Thank you for leaving this comment, Shaneka. This type of comment lets me know what people need to get from the course, so I can cater the curriculum to meet the needs of my followers.
I hope more people leave comments like yours!
I love love love your site. It is so hard to find patterns for 12″ dolls! My granddaughter has one with no clothes and I promised to make some for her. You are a life saver! I’m also interested in the pattern design classes. I hope they are in January instead of December. December is just too busy for me. I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

I’m glad you’re enjoying my patterns!
Shelly, you can sign up for the Creative Spark courses any time. If December doesn’t work for you, go ahead and sign up in January.
You get a full year to finish the course, too, before it expires. So that’s one of the bonus features of the Creative Spark platform that I really like. People can sign up and take classes at their leisure.
I am excited about your course and would like to take the course.I love American Girl doll clothes patterns. You mention signing up for the newsletter to Creative Sparks, is that enough to get information when it is time to sign up for the class? Please more info.Eagerly awaiting news!
Yes, that should be enough to get the information about the class, once it’s available. Thank you for asking!
If you go to the Creative Spark website, just scroll down to the bottom of the page, sign up for their newsletter, and when my class is available, they will highlight my class in the newsletter as a feature story.
I’m making my own 18 inch plush doll right now, so that the class will include 18 inch doll pattern alterations. We’ll talk about how to lengthen skirts, how to alter sleeves, how to create different necklines, and how to combine patterns to form new ones (like making pants into overalls or combining a skirt pattern plus a shirt pattern to form a dress).
