Sew a shirt for 9-inch dolls (20 cm to 22 cm) with free patterns @ ChellyWood.com #dolls #dollclothes

The image shows a shirt with long sleeves that has been hand sewn to fit dolls in the 9 inch or 23 cm / 24 cm size range. Free patterns for this and other 9 inch doll clothes (23 cm dolls' clothes / 24 cm doll's clothes) can be found at ChellyWood.com along with free video tutorial instructions.

In the image above, we see a preview of the shirt you can make with this week’s free pattern, which will be posted here on Wednesday.

This is the same shirt concept that we saw last week, but in the image above, I used a leafy fabric instead of the solid lavender-colored fabric that you saw in last week’s photos:

This image shows Soul, one of the dolls from the World of Love doll collection from Hasbro, wearing a hand-made shirt with two teeny-tiny lavender-colored buttons in front. This is a long-sleeve shirt made of lavender-colored cotton fabric. The free printable PDF sewing pattern for making this shirt for your 9-inch fashion dolls can be downloaded for free at ChellyWood.com

Notice how the lavender top uses two tiny buttons in the front? Well this week I’m going to make the leafy-fabric shirt with buttons down the back instead (see image at top).

Here’s how it looks from the front:

The image shows one of the collectible vintage World of Love dolls (Hasbro) wearing handmade doll clothes. The long-sleeved shirt has a pink and purple leafy pattern on the cotton fabric. The pants the doll wears are made of pink cotton. Visit ChellyWood.com for free patterns to sew these doll clothes for your World of Love dolls or other 9" dolls.

Again, this week’s free pattern will fit a lot of dolls in the 8″ to 9″ fashion doll range (20 cm dolls, 21 cm dolls, 22 cm dolls).

Feel free to ask questions in the comment section. Do you want to know if this week’s doll clothes patterns will fit your 9″ dolls? Ask away!

Of course, if I don’t own the doll you ask about, I can only give it my best guess. Also, during #TapeMeasureTuesday, I’ll be posting the official measurements for Soul, my World of Love doll. That may help you make a better guess about which dolls in your collection will fit this week’s free patterns.

During the past summer months (June through August of 2019), I designed these clothes as part of an ensemble for the World of Love dolls, which were produced by Hasbro in the 1970’s. (Disclaimer: I don’t work for Hasbro, but I do adore these dolls and others they’ve made!)

Here are the World of Love dolls dressed in the various outfits you can make using this week’s (and last week’s) free PDF patterns:

This image shows four World of love dolls: Peace, Love, Soul, and Flower. Each doll wears a different outfit. Each outfit was hand sewn using the free printable PDF sewing patterns found at ChellyWood.com (where you can find free sewing patterns for dolls of many shapes and sizes).

I’m very excited about these new patterns! After designing them, I found them both easy and fun to make, and they do fit a surprising number of different dolls in this 8″ to 9″ size range (20 to 22 cm size range).

If you look back at last Tuesday’s contest, you’ll see in the comments that these clothes will even fit some 10″ dolls as well, as long as they have a very slender figure.

So watch for future postings of the outfits shown in the image above, along with tutorial videos showing you how to make the different pieces of this casual-fun wardrobe.
