  1. these sewing patterns are really helpful im 15 and starting to do better at sewing and these have made them so much easier

      1. Love making Barbie Clothes started when my great grandbaby lived with us now it’s just a habit I enjoy.

    1. Currently the 12 inch Tall Fashionista Barbie patterns are only available as a JPG image. But you can print it that way with a little guidance. Here’s the tutorial that shows you how: https://chellywood.com/2018/07/26/how-to-print-sewing-patterns-for-dolls-clothes-chellywood-com/

      Hopefully this helps.

I’m in the process of converting all my JPG patterns to PDF documents, but it will be a while before I get to the 12 inch dolls. I started converting the smallest ones first, and I’m moving up through the sizes, one size at a time. I’m on the 9 inch dolls right now.

Meanwhile, as I post new patterns, they are all going to be available as PDFs.

Thank you for leaving a comment, Ka Yi Leung. Have a lovely day! 🙂

    1. Hi Shaz. Thank you for leaving a comment.

I have several cape patterns on this website, but if you’re looking for the hooded cloak for Barbie-sized fashion dolls, the full pattern plus the tutorial can be found at this link.

Incidentally, you might want to review the video on how to locate patterns on this website. That tutorial video is right here.

      Have a lovely day. 🙂

  2. Hello, I appreciate your tutorials and the patterns. I will use your link to purchase another of the Barbie Signature Looks dolls. Will this size patterns fit her?

    1. I don’t know if this pattern will fit the Barbie Signature Look dolls because I don’t own one of them. Sorry I can’t answer your question.

Perhaps another follower will see this comment thread and answer the question for us.

  3. Thank you so much for the printable Barbie party dress pattern it worked a treat, I can’t wait to try different fabrics and colours/patterns. We are recovering from severe floods here in Auckland NZ but at least my street is OK. Hopefully back to work next week. Until then I sew away.

  4. Your “FREE Printable Pants patterns for 11.5-inch Fashion Dolls” pattern has left me wondering if you have a barbie doll with a G.I. Joe size waist.
Lol, seriously, lol, the waist is only wide enough for my 12 inch made to move barbie doll to get 1 leg in!
I understand that the made to move barbie doll is going to have slightly wider hips than the non made to move barbie dolls, but this is only by 5 millimeters and will not cause a fitment issue as bad as this.
I was thinking perhaps this pattern is for the Skipper barbie doll, definitely not, she is a short barbie doll, these pants are to long for her. The length of the pants is perfect for a 12 inch barbie doll, this is not the problem, the waist is.
The printed “Measurement Tool” is correct comparing 1 inch to 1 inch, so it’s not the printing size.
The made to move barbie doll has a 5 inch waist, your pattern calls for 1 and a ½ inch waist x 2 which is 3 inches minus whatever after stitching.
Just 1 of barbie’s thighs is 3 inches around for a made to move barbie doll or 2 and ¾ for a regular barbie doll, this 3 ish inch waist is not mathing to the 5 inch waist of a made to move barbie doll.
To fix this fitment issue, simply add ¾ inch to the top of the pants pattern and adjust the sides to the new waist size.
This will accommodate the original areas of stitching.
For the curvy barbie doll, her waist is 6 inches so add 1 and a ¼ inch to the top of the original pants pattern sizing.
Because no barbie doll has the same measurements, I recommend adding elastic for a perfect fit for regular, made to move and curvy barbie dolls.
On a related, but separate issue, each pattern says “Cut 4 of Cotton or Poly/Cotton Blend Fabric”, this is fine if one is interested in making 2 pairs of pants.
For a single pair of pants you only need 1 cutout of each side of the pattern (front side and back side, turn over the pattern for the back side).
Turning over the pattern for the opposite side of the pants should be noted on the pattern as well.
I’ve been hand sewing for 30+ years yet I’m new to making barbie doll clothing.
I’ve successfully made a pair of pants for my made to move barbie doll perhaps the most difficult way with 3 pieces of material and minimal measurements, very proud of them.
Making pants with 2 pieces of material and the aforementioned issues has made for an extremely confusing and frustrating morning, but now that I’ve figured all of this out making pants is going to be much more simpler than my original first pair of pants.
