We all face challenges. That’s what life is all about. I’m sure you’ve had times in your life where it seemed like the challenges were piled up, one on top of another. (Feel free to share such experiences in the comments section. Misery loves company!😉)
As you know, I’ve had some technical challenges lately. Starting in February, the digital systems I use to build this website and my YouTube videos all crashed, one right after another.
Don’t worry. The website still works fine. My issues are with creating new blog posts and videos in the future.
I’ve had problems with my computer, my printer, our internet speed, and my video software. Even my sewing machine had to be taken in for repairs! I kept hoping I could get ahead on my daily blog posts, but it has been close to impossible to keep up with them when all my machinery is malfunctioning.
When stuff goes wrong, I spend time contemplating what God is trying to tell me. There must be something that needs to change.
Behind the scenes, some painful events have been happening in my family as well. My father has been diagnosed with advanced dementia and moved to an assisted living situation, and my beloved younger sister has been undergoing radiation treatments for a brain tumor.
So while I’m loving the freedom of my recent retirement from the work force, I feel like I’m weathering a number of personal storms right now.
You wouldn’t think a retired person would have too many things to handle, but that’s exactly how I’m feeling. So I’m going to change my routines for a while.
As far as this website goes, I’m going to focus on only a couple of projects, but I’m going to do them well. Instead of daily blog posts, I may only post once or twice a week. I hope you still come visit my site regularly and leave comments because I really do enjoy the interactions with all of you.
For the rest of April, though, I’m going to take a vacation to spend some time with my family in Arizona.

Enjoy your vacation! Sometimes life throws a lot at us and it can be a challenge to handle it all. My sister in law died a couple months ago, then I got pnuemonia and was sick for a month, my husband had to go to Oregon coast to help his brother, car repair bills, my dog and I got attacked by another dog and my poor little guy ended up with an abscess on his neck. But through it all, life goes on. I think it’s time to take a nice long coffee break and play with dolls!
It sounds like you’ve had a “dark night of the soul” of your own, Mabel. I wish you blessings. It will get better. I know it will.
Dear Cheely, please hang in there! Life can be extremely difficult but there are always good moments and good memories.
I agree. I’m thinking a road trip to see family will help me embrace those good moments and good memories.
Thank you for adding positivity to my day!
