Anna and Elsa 6 inch dolls are magically transformed! #Disney #Frozen

There are two photos displayed within a purple background frame. The photo on the left shows an Anna doll from Disney's Frozen. This doll is shown from the front view. Her braids come up from her ears and tie together over the top of her head, with hair flying wildly behind her. There's a spool of pink thread beside the doll to indicate that she's only about six inches for 15.5 cm tall (triple the height of the spool of thread, and then a bit more). Her legs are made of yellow plastic and she wears a thin yellow nightgown, which looks like the pajama she wore in the Disney film. The photo on the right shows the same doll in profile. A woman's hand holds her aloft. The braids atop her head are very tiny and closely braided together. From this angle the state of the rest of her hair is clear. She has wild curls flying everywhere, matted and twisted together in a mass of red hair. Clearly a child has played with this doll a lot!

About a year ago, I found this lovely lady at my local Goodwill store, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She needed some TLC, and I was happy to give her the love she needed.

In August of 2023, I did a blog post called, “How to Improve a Doll’s Bangs (Fringes)” and shortly thereafter, I did another blog post about “How to Unbraid a Doll’s Braided Hair.” Click on those links to see the full articles.

This week I’m going to show you the final Anna doll, after a full makeover, including new doll clothes to fit her! But I forgot to mention that shortly after I found the Anna doll, I also found a little Elsa doll.

In this collage, we see a transformation in a six inch Elsa doll's hair. In Figure 1, her hair is lathered in Dawn dish detergent; in Figure 2 we see a white arrow pointing at a tiny piece of blue plastic in the doll's soapy hair; in figure three, the doll is upside down in a cup of water, getting a good rinse, and in figure four, her hair is being brushed and styled.

As you can see in the images above, Elsa was given a similar spa treatment to Anna, but in Figure 3 above, you can see that I actually had to remove little bits of plastic from her hair.

Still, even with that problem, I think Elsa’s hair turned out better than Anna’s. What do you think?

A red-headed Ana doll and a platinum blond Elsa six inch tall doll stand side by side with their backs to us, showing off their lovely locks of recently washed and styled hair. The red headed Ana doll has a bit of frizz and a somewhat lopsided cut to her hair, while Elsa's hair shines exquisitely in waves of perfectly curled locks.

And this week, when I give you a pattern for making doll clothes to fit Anna, I think you should know that the two dolls are identical in body measurements, as far as I can tell.

So I think this week’s doll clothes should easily fit either of these little six-inch dolls.

Side by side, an Anna and an Elsa six inch tall Disney Princess doll stands, showing off their recently cleaned hair and new clothes, including T-shirts and two lengths of skirts. They also wear plastic Mary Jane style shoes.

In closing, do you see those adorable Mary Jane style shoes my dolls are wearing? Those were actually made for the little 8 inch Vogue Ginny dolls.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that they’re a perfect fit for my six inch Anna and Elsa dolls!

    1. Hi Suzanne. The pattern for the shirt and skirt will be posted this morning at 7:00 AM Mountain Standard Time as a new blog post. There will be another pattern for pants and a T-shirt on Friday this week.

Today’s blog post was more about the TLC side of things, taking a worn-out, dirty, played-with doll and turning it into a pretty princess to play with.
