Today’s tutorial goes with a brand new pattern for making a pair of Mary Jane style shoes that will fit Monster High dolls, Ever After High dolls, and Moana 10 inch dolls (among other dolls with similar-sized feet).
You may have seen these Mary Jane style shoes on some of my MH, EAH, or other dolls before, but this tutorial took a long time to create. So that’s why it has taken me a long time to get it prepared and published on my YouTube channel.
But now you have it! A pattern and tutorial for making Mary Jane shoes for your Monster High, Ever After High, or Moana dolls!

To make the shoes, you’ll need the following:
- for the side “wall” of the shoe, the toe ribbon, and the elasticized ribbon, use 1/2 inch (approx. 1 cm) ribbon or decorative elastic
- you’ll also need some beading (cord) elastic to place inside the ribbon (unless you choose elasticized ribbon, which is stretchy enough by itself)
- for the toe of the shoe, use cotton fabric
- for the heel ribbon, use 1/8 inch ribbon
- for the inner sole (in spite of what it says on the pattern), you’ll need both cotton fabric and some craft foam
- for the outer sole, you’ll need some more craft foam
Today’s patterns will fit these dolls:
- Monster High female dolls
- Ever After High female dolls
- DC Superhero Girls 12 inch dolls
- Disney’s 10 inch Moana dolls
- 10 inch Rainbow High dolls
