In the summer of 2014, I took a trip to Paris, and while I was there, I took hundreds of photos of dolls in various well-known locations. The photo at the top of this blog post was taken at Montmartre, a part of the city that inspired famous painters.

You can find some of these lovely images right here on ChellyWood.com, but I also have a video graphic novel story I made up with my photos called Adventures in Paris.

I have never finished the series I’ve called Adventures in Paris, but I sure would like to!

However I digress…

Recently I was asked to write an article for Doll Castle News on doll photography. So I thought I’d pick the brains of all my lovely fans and followers who use this website!

What tips can you give me on doll photography? Where do you like to photograph your dolls, and what challenges do you sometimes encounter when photographing them? And finally, how do you overcome those challenges?
