Do you ever feel totally inspired by someone else’s handmade designs? The little parrot in the image above caught my eye on Twitter recently, so I started following his designer, Emily D, who has more creative stuff available for sale on Etsy at Critical Hit Designs.
As many of my regular followers know, I love to make stop motion videos with dolls, and I’ve been wanting to do one that involves a 1:6 scale parrot. This image truly inspired me! I typed up this blog post to help me remember what the design looked like, so I can use it as an inspiration later on, when I’m ready to make a tiny plush version of something similar.
And when I contacted Emily, I found out that like me, she designs her own patterns. Wow! Nice work, Emily!
This parrot isn’t a plush toy, as you might expect. It’s actually a zipper pouch:
How cool is that? In our conversation on Twitter, I told Emily she should think about making some dragon zipper pouches, using an adapted version of my dragon pincushion design. She liked the idea and is thinking about making something like that.
I’m following her on Twitter to see how it turns out!
That’s it for today’s #FridayFollow feature. I just wanted to mention how this adorable parrot design left me feeling utterly inspired!
As the images show, you can follow Emily on Twitter at @emilyd333 or browse her Etsy store, Critical Hit Designs.
Disclaimer: I have not yet purchased one of Emily’s creations, but I am making this blog post because her parrot design was an inspiring one.

Adorable. Thank you for sharing.
