Making holiday fun at ChellyWood.com this week: #stockings #dollclothes #newdoll

This image is a preview of what Chelly Wood has in store, as far as free patterns and tutorial videos for the week of 9 December 2019 through 13 December 2019. The image shows a Queens of Africa Azeeza doll modeling a handmade felt strappy summer top and an above-the-knee length skirt made of holly-patterned fabric. On the chimney behind her, above the fireplace in her 1:6 scale diorama, there are handmade stockings hanging by the hearth. Visit ChellyWood.com to find out how to make these projects, including the diorama of the fireplace with hearth, the stockings, and the handmade doll clothes for 11 inch fashion dolls. The title of today’s blog post says it all: I’ve got a new doll, and I’m having fun making stuff for her!

While I type this, it’s actually Sunday night, less than 12 hours before this posts on ChellyWood.com. Normally, I like to prep my blog posts a week or two ahead of when my blog followers see them, but I’ve been WAY behind during the holidays…

So with that said, I’m hoping to post tutorials and patterns for making all the goodies you see in the image at the top of this page, over the course of the coming week.

The best news is that I have a new doll: Azeezah from the Queens of Africa doll collection! You can imagine which famous lady-in-pink can easily swap clothes with her, as she stands 11.5 inches tall and has pretty standard fashion doll body measurements.

A special thank-you to the Queens of Africa doll company. They have given me permission to use images of their dolls in the book my agent is pitching to publishing companies, so if I never hear back from any other fashion doll companies, I have a lovely alternative for modeling my designs.

If you’re looking for a Christmas gift for a little girl, take a look at the Queens of Africa dolls. My Azeezah doll came with a cute little puppy, a brush, a purse, and some jewelry.

This week I’m hoping to share with you my patterns and tutorial videos for making her skirt, her shirt, and the stockings that hang next to her fireplace. Next week I hope to share a tutorial video on how to make the little fireplace with its lovely hearth.

The image shows Azeezah, from the Queens of Africa dolls, wearing a handmade skirt and felt shirt. To make this outfit, using the free patterns and tutorial video instructions that go with the patterns, click on the link in the caption.
