This week I’m going to share my free pattern for khaki pants with a pocket.
As the heading states, this pattern will fit 14 inch dolls like the Wellie Wishers from American Girl or Hearts for Hearts Girls.

Yep, those are the same pants that we saw in the images for last week’s purse project, and in fact, this week’s pocket pattern is the same pocket pattern we used on the purse. But look how cute it is in the back of these adorable khaki pants:

We’re also going to learn a little about top stitching, which is a decorative addition to any garment. Just look at the turquoise blue top stitching that goes down the side of these khakis:

You don’t have to make khaki pants, though. If you’d rather make a pair of jeans, like you see here, both the pattern and the tutorial will work for jeans-making too.

This pants / jeans pattern uses an elastic waist, which makes it super easy for little girls to get the pants on and off.

Eventually I’ll show you how to make these assorted tops to go with your doll’s pants, as well, but this week we’ll be focused on making these cute khakis!
