This image shows the adorable 28″ Barbie doll clothes we’ll be making here at ChellyWood.com over the course of the next two weeks.

It includes my argyle mini-skirt PDF pattern (which is free, like all the other patterns here on my website) and the pattern for the cashmere-style sweater, which is really just a lined shirt made with sweater fabric. I’ll be focusing on the skirt pattern this week and the sweater pattern next week.

The image shows a 28 inch best Fashion Friend Barbie doll by Mattel. She's in a winter outdoor setting with a bare tree behind her and yellow grass. A road winds around the corner behind her as well. She looks out at the wintery landscape with one hand over her eyes to shade them. This 28 inch Barbie doll models a handmade shirt made of sweater material. She also has a heart-shaped necklace on and a handmade skirt. The skirt has knife pleats and is made of tan and blue argyle fabric. This doll's clothes were made using the free doll clothes patterns available at ChellyWood.com and the URL is on the watermark for the image of this doll. This week’s skirt project uses knife pleats, which can be tricky to do, so this week’s free printable sewing pattern for the argyle skirt will receive five flowers on my difficulty scale.

However, as you can see, it’s super cute! If you feel like rising to the challenge of making knife pleats, jump in and join me!

I loved the way this outfit turned out, and I’m really proud to share it with everyone! The skirt will fit other dolls, too, which I’ll show you tomorrow on my #TapeMeasure Tuesday post.

For the most part, I found this week’s skirt project challenging but fun. The sweater is actually much easier to sew, but I won’t be posting that pattern until next week.
