It’s always exciting to make a pair of undies for a doll, right?! Last week I gave you the tutorial for making the bra. This week’s tutorial shows how to make the little panties for your curvy fashion dolls.
But of course there’s a link to the bra tutorial below, as well as the patterns for both.

In today’s video, I mention the YouTube #Shorts video that demonstrates the kinds of fabrics I use when making my own doll undergarments. I’ll repost that “YouTube Short” video here, for your convenience:
Essentially, to make today’s doll undergarments, you will likely need one or more of the following items:
- jersey fabrics on Amazon
- variety snaps
- 1/8 inch elastic on Amazon
- 3/4 inch sew-on Velcro on Amazon (cut it in half down the middle)
- chopsticks (for inverting doll clothes)
- Dritz fabric pencil
- Fiskars Stitchers mini snips (for clipping seams efficiently)
- Gutermann sewing machine thread
This list comes from my “Buyer’s Guide” page, which is easily accessed from the home page.
And if you’re interested in using earth-friendly fabrics, please consider buying your fabric from my Spoonflower store. I have a whole corner dedicated to “Fabric for Making Doll Clothes!”

Do you see my latest doll-related fabric design? I call that my “Dollhouse Shoebox Winter Cabin” fabric, and I’ve dropped that fabric into Spoonflower’s latest contest. If you have time to show your support for today’s free Curvy doll underpants pattern, please take the time to vote for my fabric in the Spoonflower contest.
Please note: you do have to vote for at least FOUR different fabric options, in order for your vote to count!
I’ve already ordered my own “Dollhouse Shoebox Winter Cabin” fabric from my Spoonflower store, and it arrived yesterday. The printout of the fabric that I received cut off part of the wood stove, so I may want to fiddle around with the fabric a bit more before I start advertising it extensively. I’d hold off on buying yours until I get all the tweaks wrinkled out, okay?
Eventually, I plan to teach a Creative Spark class on how to make this Barbie-sized winter cabin out of a shoebox, but I’m not quite ready for that project just yet. Maybe after the holidays are over. By then, hopefully, I will have designed other shoebox dollhouse fabrics too. Let me know, in the comment, if there’s a specific style of Barbie dollhouse shoebox you’d like me to make!
But I digress…

Yay! This is the first time I was able to vote for your fabric without trying multiple times. I wish they had used a different part for the swatch, though. The one I saw didn’t do it justice. Good luck! Everyone: Go vote!
Aww… Thanks! You’re too kind. ❤️
