Some families enjoy a game of hiding their Elf on the Shelf, and one of the best places to hide him is in plain sight. Why not make him a tree-topper?
In December of 2023, I published my Barbie Angel patterns, which includes a long dress, angel wings, and a robe. Perhaps you remember this tutorial video…?
But I don’t think I ever showed you that both this dress and the wings will fit Elf on the Shelf.
Until today, that is.

To make today’s Elf on the Shelf angel outfit, you will likely need one or more of the following items:
- cotton fabric on Etsy
- cotton/polyester blend fabrics on Etsy
- craft felt on Amazon
- Gondola Snaps on Etsy (various sizes)
- 1/8 inch ribbon on Etsy (for straps)
- lace trim on Etsy (optional — to add to the dress)
- 1/8 inch elastic on Amazon
- chopsticks (for inverting doll clothes)
- Fiskars Stitchers mini snips (for clipping seams efficiently)
- Gutermann sewing machine thread
- Silver Gutermann thread for the wings’ embroidery
