The story behind my “People Who Read” meme… #Humor #Bibliophile #StopMotion

A lot of people follow me on YouTube because a.) they sew for dolls, b.) they enjoy collecting dolls or c.) they like to watch stop-motion videos. Today’s brief meme is for all three!

On the weekends, I design doll clothes sewing patterns, which people can download for free, right here on my website, ChellyWood.com.

But in my “day job,” I’m actually just an ordinary school librarian.

This image represents the cover art for the stop motion video entitled, "Classic Books for Kids: Romeo and Juliet Read by Librarian Chelly Wood". Please go to ChellyWood.com to view the stop motion video of Romeo and Juliet with dolls, produced by doll clothing designer Chelly Wood with her two daughters.

Last week, as part of our school’s Halloween-week fun and games, our principal asked all the staff members to submit a “beauty pageant” image of themselves.

It was a fun activity, and since I already make these types of videos pretty regularly for my YouTube channel, I got up at 4:00 AM the morning of the contest and took a few snapshots of these dolls to build a little meme video.

As a school librarian, I am always trying to promote literacy, so I decided to make that the theme of my “beauty pageant” submission.

The image shows the Chelly Wood doll -- a Spin Master Liv doll that has been repainted and given a new wig, to look like the real doll clothing designer, Chelly Wood. The doll stands over a desk or circulation desk, with a tiny book resting in her hand. Bigger books are scattered around the desk top. Chelly wears her librarian's apron, which has the old ChellyWood.com logo across the front of it. This apron is pink with a darker pink checkerboard pattern. The photo is taken from above the doll, looking down at the circulation desk's top, with it's scattered books and a little turquoise coffee cup. The ChellyWood.com logo appears in one corner.

Those of you who know me through your online interactions with me might be surprised to discover that most of my students have no idea I have this whole online alter ego!

Yes, I’m sure they enjoy watching stop-motion videos, but I just think it’s not very professional of me to promote myself at school. I don’t need a bunch of kids following me online and being… well, trolls!

Here we see a vintage pink-haired Troll doll, made by the Dam company, framed by a purple, blue, and white frame, upon which it says "doll of the day" and "Trolls."

So I keep my private life and my career as a school librarian as separate as possible.

But for this fun contest, I decided to use the tools I have at home to Wow! my co-workers and the student body with a fun little meme that promotes literacy.

I mean, why not? Right?! So I hope you enjoyed today’s silly little meme about the value of reading. Feel free to share it online with friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else you think might enjoy it.
