This week we’re sewing a pretty red plaid dress for the little Disney Tinkerbell fairy 9 inch dolls. We’re getting closer and closer to Christmas, so I made my little dress for Tinkerbell out of a lightweight cotton/polyester blend red and green plaid fabric, the colors of the season.
I frequent my local Goodwill and other second-hand stores in my area, and these little fairy dolls are easy enough to find in pretty good condition, in many second-hand stores. But there’s a full list of all the little 8 to 10 inch dolls that will fit in this dress pattern in the first set of bullets below.

But honestly, any cotton fabric will work for this dress. To make the dress, you’ll also need some 1/8 inch (3 mm) matching Offray ribbon and a few size 1/4 Dritz snaps.
If you want to make your doll’s dress out of holiday fabric, like I did, this link will help you find some small print holiday fabrics.

And of course, there are even more free patterns for making your Tinkerbell fairy doll’s clothes on the Gallery Page for Tinkerbell.
This dress pattern was first designed for the Rainbow High 10 inch dolls, so don’t be surprised if you see an image of one of these dolls on the free printable PDF sewing pattern for making today’s dress. The tutorial video shows the vintage Sunshine Family doll wearing the dress, but the directions are the same, if you’re making one for Tinkerbell or one of the other Disney fairy 9 inch dolls.

Today’s free patterns will fit the following dolls:
- Disney fairy 9 inch dolls (like the little Tinkerbell dolls)
- vintage Sunshine Family adult female dolls
- Disney’s 10 inch Moana dolls
- Ideal’s vintage Pepper dolls
- Rainbow High 10 and a half inch dolls
