A few months ago, I found this little sweetheart at a second hand store (thrift store). She was completely nude of course, but I had been watching for a Topper Dawn Doll or a Palitoy Pippa Doll for a number of years, although since I do live in the US, I didn’t think it was likely I would ever run across a Pippa in a thrift store.
So when I ran across this little 6 inch I Dream of Jeannie doll by Remco, I snatched her up for a whopping $2.50 (American dollars)!

Then, as many of you know, I got sick with West Nile Virus, and I had to sit with my spine at a 30 degree angle for about two weeks, to recalibrate my brain fluid after my spinal tap. Ugh! That was awful!
When you’re laying back in a recliner chair like that, it’s pretty much impossible to do much. You can’t look at a computer screen, but you can sew!
You can do embroidery as well, and I do enjoy making tiny doll clothes with embroidered edges. Hooray for that!

So I drew up some patterns for this tiny little Remco I Dream of Jeannie doll, and I spent two weeks making her a small wardrobe.
She was just the right size to keep the doll and all my sewing and needlework projects beside my easy chair, and I could remain reclined at a 30 degree angle while sewing without too much hassle.

Now that I’m feeling better, I took the time to see what other fashion dolls come in this 6 inch tall size. And I’ve found photos of Topper Dawn dolls alongside Remco’s I Dream of Jeannie dolls. They look to be almost identical in size.
I’ve also found Palitoy’s Pippa dolls photographed with Topper Dawn dolls, and they look to be about the same size as well.
So before I post my new doll clothes patterns for 6 inch fashion dolls, I’d like confirmation from you, my followers. Can Topper Dawn dolls, Palitoy Pippa dolls, and Remco’s I Dream of Jeannie dolls swap clothes?

Would I be safe to post these patterns for all three dolls?
Feel free to post any of the pictures you see here on social media, to help spread the word. Let other collectors know I’ve been making patterns for 6 inch fashion dolls, and reach out to the doll collecting community at large.

Please leave your advice in the comments section, and if you collect Dawn dolls and/or Pippa dolls, watch for these patterns and tutorial videos here on ChellyWood.com and on my YouTube channel in the weeks to come!
Didn’t this outfit turn out just as cute as can be? I can’t wait to share these patterns with you!

I don’t know Remco’s Jeannie but I’d say that Dawn and Pippa would be pretty much the same. We have a couple of Pippas who we’d love to dress so I hope you will post the patterns. I can’t be sure, but I would not be surprised if Palitoy had permission to make Pippa in Dawn’s image. Palitoy made Tressy under licence from American Character and their Action Girl is very similar to Uneeda’s Dollikin , the 11.5 inch one. If it wasn’t 3am I’d read up on that but I think you would be safe.
Wow, Taswegian1957! You have shared some awesome and very helpful information here! Thank you so much!
And yes, I do plan to post free doll clothes patterns for Palitoy Pippa dolls, vintage Topper Dawn dolls, and Remco’s I Dream of Jeannie dolls, right here on ChellyWood.com, so please check back later–maybe in mid-July and August–for those.
While I was sick with West Nile Virus, I designed half a dozen different outfits in this size range. Because Jeannie is such a tiny doll, she was just the right size to sit on the little table beside me. I’m glad you’re excited for these upcoming patterns!
Oh, and one other thing, Taswegian1957, now that I’m feeling a lot better, I’m working on the patterns for Judy Littlechap too. I’m making a dress that will be similar to the pink satin one she is often pictured in. I’ve done two prototypes, tweaking the pattern just a bit here and there, and now I’m on what I hope is going to be the final pattern.
So watch for those upcoming sewing patterns too!
I will. I don’t often sew for dolls but there are some that I can’t easily find nice outfits for.
