This outfit was first posted as an outfit designed to fit Wellie Wisher dolls, but I wanted to add the image above to the Disney Princess toddler doll clothes pattern gallery. So I’m re-posting the outfit today with Elsa modeling it.
Today’s top uses a printed cotton fabric on one side and a solid cotton fabric on the other side. I used 3/4 inch wide sew-on Velcro for the back closure.
The skirt was made with a matching printed cotton fabric (to match the printed cotton fabric that I used for the shirt), and it uses an elastic waist. I recommend using 1/4 inch elastic for this project.
I bought the London print fabric at Michaels a long time ago, so I don’t think it’s available anymore. However, if you have your heart set on the London print fabric that I used for this outfit, you will be able to buy a similar fabric on Etsy.
Today’s free printable PDF doll clothes sewing patterns will fit the following dolls:
- 13-inch Disney Princess Toddler dolls*
- 14-inch Hearts for Hearts Girls*

- 16-inch vintage Velvet dolls from the Crissy family of dolls*

Another way to help support this free doll clothes pattern website is to consider taking one of my paid courses in doll pattern design. The latest course I’ve posted on the Creative Spark Online Learning platform is called, “Design Your Own Doll Pants Patterns from Scratch.”

In this how-to-design-pants class, which only costs $19.99, you’ll learn how to design your own doll pants, jeans, leggings, fly-front pants, and even overalls, using my simple techniques.
You will learn how to design your own doll pants patterns, whether your doll is big or small, plush or plastic, and you’ll even get my “magic resizing formula” with the class, as an added bonus!

The Crissy family of dolls which includes dolls like vintage Crissy, Velvet, and other dolls, were produced by the Ideal Toy Corporation, which held the registered trademark for them. That company is no longer producing the dolls, and at the time of this blog post, no known company has purchased the trademark to re-produce these dolls. But if you wish to purchase one, you can sometimes find them on eBay.
Chelly Wood and ChellyWood.com are not affiliated with the BFC Ink dolls or MGA Entertainment, the company that produced them and holds the trademark rights to them. The BFC Ink dolls (aka Best Friends Club dolls) were in production, starting in 2009, but at the time of this blog post, they are no longer available in stores. You may be able to find a used one on eBay, though, if you’re thinking about collecting them. These dolls can swap clothes with Crissy dolls, but their bodies are much more articulated. They have very lovely faces.
