Sew a strappy sundress for 10 inch Mattel female dolls from Harry Potter @ ChellyWood.com #HarryPotter #DollClothesPatterns

A Ginny Weasley doll (by Mattel) stands on her tiptoes in a pair of black combat boots, which she wears under her sunny brown plaid sundress. The dress has a puffy skirt with lots of ruffles at the bottom. The dress's bodice has darts and thin straps. The brown plaid of the dress is almost reddish-brown, to coordinate well with her ginger hair. She's standing in a room with a mottled blue wall and a white floor. She stands slightly to one side with her face turned toward the viewer. We see the ChellyWood.com logo in the lower right corner.

Today I’m sharing my free, printable PDF sewing pattern for making this sweet little strappy sundress with a “cottage core” feel to it. I first posted this pattern for the Rainbow High dolls, but I’ve since discovered that it will fit a number of other dolls too.

So yes, this dress will fit 9 and 3/4 inch female dolls from the Harry Potter Mattel collection (and similar-sized dolls).

To make this dress, all you’ll need is the cotton fabric of your choice and something to close the dress in back. The video suggests that you use snaps to close the back, but this dress fits my Ginny Weasley doll with a lot of room in the bodice, so I recommend using a swatch of 3/4 inch Velcro to close the dress in the back.

Today’s dress pattern will fit these dolls*:

A 9 and 3/4 inch Ginny Weasley doll (Mattel) models a rusty brown plaid or check style dress. The handmade dress has a skirt that's long enough to reach her calves. It has a full ruffle at the bottom of the skirt. The bodice is strappy with darts, and made of the same brown plaid fabric. The little auburn-haired doll wears a pair of black combat boots under her dress, and her right hand holds her full skirt out a bit, while her left arm swings freely. She looks up and slightly to the right of the viewer.
