Make a long-sleeved shirt and overalls for baby dolls w/today’s free doll clothes patterns @ ChellyWood.com #DollClothesPatterns #crafter

This is a photo of a JC Toys Bibi doll modeling a pair of handmade overalls designed by Chelly Wood. The overalls are made of white cotton fabric, dotted with many different sizes of stars in a rainbow of colors. Under the overalls, the baby doll wears a purple long-sleeved blousy-style shirt with elastic at the cuffs. The little baby doll is lying down with one foot in the air, as if she's ready to play footsie games. The Chelly Wood dot com logo appears in the lower right corner.

Back in December I gave you my baby doll overalls pattern, and then last week I gave you the pattern and tutorial video for making the long-sleeved shirt that goes under the overalls. Today I’m placing all of these patterns and tutorial video links in one spot, for easy access.

I designed these doll clothes to fit the Lil’ Cutesies dolls, which are made by JC Toys. But I’ve tried the whole outfit on other dolls and discovered that the shirt, at least, will fit a number of different dolls, all of which are listed below.

The overalls, on the other hand, will only fit a baby-shaped doll or a stuffed animal with similar proportions. My niece, Emily, discovered that the overalls will fit her “Kitty” for example (a plush cat).

The image shows a JC Toys Lil' Cutesies doll modeling a handmade pair of overalls with a long-sleeved baby dolls shirt. The baby doll rests in a cradle with a handmade quilt behind her. The shirt she wears is made of shiny purple polyester which has a silk-like texture to it. The overalls are made of white cotton with a rainbow of tiny stars dotting the fabric. The biggest of the stars is purple, like the doll's shirt. This little cutesie doll wears a pink bow in her hair, but it's a lighter shade of pink than the dusty rose color of the wall behind her little toy cradle. The Chelly Wood dot com logo appears in the upper right hand corner, reminding us to visit Chelly Wood dot com for the free printable PDF sewing patterns for making these doll clothes to fit 8 inch baby dolls like the Lil' Cutesies from JC Toys.

In my doll’s long-sleeved shirt tutorial video, I mention my Fiskars little snippers, which I use in a lot of my tutorial videos when I’m clipping my seams. The links I’ve provided here will help you find a pair of those little snippers, if you want some.

To make this shirt and overalls for your 8 inch baby dolls, you’ll need some cotton fabric (and possibly a bit of polyester fabric — but stick with just cotton if you’re a beginner), some 1/4 inch elastic, and some Dritz size 2/0 snaps.

And please note that this pattern is not for beginners. I’ve given both the shirt and the overalls five flowers, which is the highest ranking on my difficulty scale.

The image shows the two pages of printable PDF sewing patterns that are available for making the doll clothes pictured in the middle of the image: a long-sleeved shirt and bibbed overalls for a baby doll. The text over these images states "free patterns!"

She's hugging the leg of 15 and a half inch vintage Ideal Velvet, who models a pair of red bell-bottom overalls. To Velvet's right, a JC Toys Lil' Cutesies 8 inch baby doll is wearing a pair of white overalls with multi-colored stars.
