Today’s circle skirt project was originally designed to fit vintage Skipper dolls, but when I received a Lottie doll for Christmas at the end of 2021, I tried this skirt on her and was excited to discover that it fit her perfectly!
The cotton shirt she’s wearing is a reversible one I designed for Stacie dolls though. And you’ll notice that the skirt fits Lottie a little longer than it does vintage Skipper. Click here to see it worn by Skipper for a comparison.
Anyway, because these patterns were originally designed for other dolls, the video tutorial links below will direct you to a tutorial that shows other dolls wearing the skirt and top. The sewing instructions are still the same, though, and the patterns will work just fine, even though Lottie isn’t pictured on them.

To make this circle skirt and top set, you’ll need some cotton print fabric, some cotton solid fabric, a bit of 1/2 inch bias tape, eyelet trim, and Dritz size 2/0 snaps.
Today’s free patterns will fit the following dolls:
- 8 inch Bratz dolls
- 8 inch Breyer Rider dolls
- Kuu Kuu Harajuku dolls (9 and a half inch)
- Disney 9 and a half inch fairy dolls like Tinkerbell
- Mattel’s 9 inch Stacie dolls
- Mattel’s vintage Skipper dolls
- Hasbro World of Love vintage dolls
- vintage Sunshine Family adult female dolls
- Mego 8-inch female action figures
- 7 inch Lottie dolls
