Sew a super simple skirt for 14 to 16 inch (35 to 40 cm) dolls w/free patterns @ ChellyWood.com #DollClothes #FreePDFpatterns

Scroll down to the second set of bullets for the free PDF sewing patterns.

The pattern that goes with this skirt tutorial is actually my “schoolgirl skirt” pattern from a few years ago. However I recently noticed that my “schoolgirl skirt” tutorial video doesn’t have a narrative description; it only has the written instructions that go across the screen.

You might wonder why I added voiceover to my tutorials a few years back. I changed my video processing to include the audio piece because someone who was visually impaired left a comment on one of my videos saying, “I need to be able to hear your instructions.”

So that inspired me to add an extra step in my video creation process, which I still use today.

And that’s why today’s updated version of the basic “schoolgirl skirt” tutorial includes the audio voiceover.

Now let’s talk about that really cute fabric that’s pictured in this week’s tutorial! It has little symbols representative of London on a pink cotton background. The tiny images include London Bridge, a double-decker bus, British soldiers in regalia, a street map, and Westminster Abbey, in addition to other tiny pictures. So cute!

If you really like the adorable “London print” fabric that I used in this tutorial, you may be able to find it at Hobby Lobby. That’s where I bought it anyway, but that was a while ago.

The clothes include five skirts, two pair of pants, two pair of shorts, five shirts, and a purse. The free printable sewing patterns for these doll clothes can be found at ChellyWood.com

  1. Thank you so much for your videos and patterns! And your stop motion makes me smile. The voice overs as well as print on screen help me so much as my hearing and vision are both a bit wobbly. As much help possible is appreciated
