Do you remember any of the goodies pictured in my Barbie “World of Fashion” catalog from 1985? I own an old catalog insert that came with a Barbie from this era, and I’m selling this little catalog in my eBay store this week.
As I got my Barbie catalog ready for this sale, I decided this would make a great blog topic! So I thought I’d ask you, my followers, did you ever own a Barbie car?
Here are some more photos from my catalog, to throw you back in time…
I didn’t have a Barbie car as a kid, but I did have the yellow Jeep that went with the Sunshine Family dolls. I remember playing with my Barbies in the Sunshine Family Jeep and taking photos of the dolls camping at Winchester Lake in North Idaho, back in the 1980’s.
I was probably using my mom’s old camera with film that had to be developed at a Photomat Kiosk. Remember those Photomat Kiosk buildings that sat in the middle of grocery store parking lots way back when? Did any of you take pictures of your dolls back in the days before social media?
Do you remember any of the doll clothes pictured in my 1985 “Barbie World of Fashion” catalog? Did you own any of them? Do you still have them today?
Please share your memories! I love to hear from people who frequent this website, so please join the discussion! Leave a comment below…
I have a car now, but as a child, I used my shoes (Mary Jane’s) as single person sports cars for my Barbies.
Oh that’s adorable!
Oh, but I did have the 1970s plane and my sister had the camper (which I remember being yellow, the color associated with Barbie at that time, not pink)
I had the plane too! It was super fun to play with!
I thought the Barbie car looked like cheap plastic junk that wouldn’t last a day in our boisterous household so our Barbies drove a Tonka jeep. They fit perfectly and had the added fun of replacing tires that popped off (it was a feature) Our Barbies had lots of off road adventures. (I raised 9 girls)
Too fun!
I own several Barbie cars today. I did not own any when was little. And I wis had some of the clothes pictured in you catalog, they are so much nicer then the clothes they sell today.
I agree. Those clothes inspire me!
