Fun springtime shirt patterns for fashion dolls (free PDF) @ #amsewing #dollclothes

This is a FREE printable sewing pattern for two different styles of shirt to fit 11 inch or 11 and a half inch dolls like the Queens of Africa dolls, Greenbrier fashion dolls, and many other fashion dolls in this size range. The two styles of "springtime wardrobe" shirts include a sleeveless top and a shirt with short sleeves.

Today’s free printable PDF sewing pattern is marked with an explanation that the shorts pattern and capri patterns are still incomplete. I’ve been having a little trouble getting these two “bottoms” patterns to fit my Queens of Africa dolls right because, as you might have noticed in last Tuesday’s post, Azeezah’s hips are a little wider than other, more well-known fashion dolls.

But you’re safe to download and print today’s pattern for the shirts. I’ve made the shirts for various 11 inch or 11.5-inch fashion dolls with plenty of success! So you should be able to follow tomorrow’s tutorial video to make the one with bias tape edging, and for now, just follow the Tammy Doll shirt tutorial (which uses the same steps) to make the shirt with short sleeves.

As some of you may know, my literary agent and I are seeking a publisher for my how-to book, tentatively titled Easy Doll Clothes Design Techniques. If you’re in the publishing business and would like to see our book proposal, please contact my literary agent, Elizabeth Kracht.

And if you happen to be a writer… My agent, Liz, has written a book called The Author’s Checklist. You should check it out on Amazon!

If you’re enjoying my free patterns and tutorial videos, please show your appreciation for these free goodies by sharing the news of this website on social media.

Thank you for your support!

  1. Thank you so much for your site! It’s hard to find doll clothes patterns anymore. When I was little (in the mid 80’s) seemed like everyone had a stash of homemade Barbie and baby doll clothes. I’ve got a collection of pretty fabric remnants and trimmings from my mom, the yard sale junkie. I can’t wait to help my daughters design dream gowns for their dolls like I used to.

  2. I love your doll patterns and I love your videos on how to make the outfit. My niece is in her Barbie phase, and she wants more clothes for her dolls. I have made one so far, but will be making many more .

    1. Thank you for leaving a kind comment, Cerissa! It always warms my heart to know that these free patterns are bringing joy to sewists and children who play with dolls! 🧵❤️😊
