This week, by request, I’ll be posting the patterns and matching tutorial for the Lebanese traditional doll costume you see pictured below. It includes the sherwal (underpants) and veil. Please follow ChellyWood.com to get updates as I post each pattern and the tutorials that match them.

I designed this dress as a gift for my cousin who (unbeknownst to me) was pregnant with her first child–who turned out to be a girl. Perfect, right? My cousin is married to a clever, witty, and cool Lebanese guy, so I was really just making it for my cousin, to satisfy my curiosity about her husband’s home country.
This pattern should fit most fashion dolls like Barbie, Pullip, Momoko, Poppy Parker, Fashion Royalty, etc.
All of my patterns are free to print on this page, and if you’re wondering why I offer so many great patterns and tutorials for free, please visit this page.
Love this – I can’t quite find the PDF to print. Is it in another place? Thanks for all you do
This is an older pattern. I’m revising it right now because the seam allowance was a little too small for most people to sew on a sewing machine. I got some complaints that after people made it, they found it didn’t fit Barbie very well — it was just a wee bit too tight.
If you would like me to send you the pattern though, feel free to contact me, using my website’s contact form. I’ll happily send it to you as an attachment. Just be advised that you might want to extend the seam allowances a bit.
