In today’s blog post, I will re-share my Santa Hat FREE sewing pattern. You can also use it to make an elf hat, using this pattern, as shown in the image above (left).

This was really a fun and super-easy project to create, so I honestly think even beginners will be able to handle this one. Both hats pictured above were made using the FREE Santa hat pattern I’m posting in the bulleted area below.

And in case you’re wondering, yes, these are an older post that I’m re-posting. By re-posting popular Christmas-themed projects, I’m taking a little time off from my blog to spend time with my family.

Image shows Skipper and Ariel (the Disney Princess doll) wearing hand-made doll dresses, which are made of felt coupled with holiday fabrics that have very small prints. Overlay says, "ChellyWood.com: FREE printable sewing patterns and tutorials."
Please visit ChellyWood.com for free, printable sewing patterns to fit dolls of many shapes and sizes.

In case you’re wondering, you can also find patterns for making the dresses shown above on ChellyWood.com, if you’re interested. Just look in the 10 inch dolls’ section for Disney Princess and Modern Skipper patterns.

One more thing: several years ago, I made this North Pole Christmas stop motion video. It features dolls wearing both of these dresses, so you can easily see all the different dolls that will fit in today’s free pattern.

Here are the free patterns and tutorial videos for the elf or Santa hat for fashion dolls (and a couple of extra items too):

This image of a turquoise blue sewing needle pulling purple thread away from a line of cross-stitching is used as a divider between sections of a blog post.

Are you new to sewing? I’ve got a playlist of tutorials for the beginning sewists on my YouTube channel. It includes video tutorials showing you how to do a basic straight stitch when sewing by hand, how to use the whipstitch to hem a garment, how to sew on snaps, and even how to design your own doll clothes patterns, for those who are new to design and alterations.

    1. My collection of literally hundreds of free doll clothes sewing patterns are found in the gallery pages.

When you go to the home page (chellyWood.com), one of the first buttons you come to is called “website navigation.” If you choose that “website navigation” button, it takes you to several tutorial videos that show you how easy it is to find and print free patterns on my website.

If you still have problems printing your patterns after watching my “Website Navigation” tutorial videos, I recommend asking your local public librarian to help you. I was once a school librarian, and I can tell you, honestly, that modern librarians do a lot of things like teaching people how to print a PDF. That’s pretty normal stuff for 21st century librarians.
