As I’ve said in recent blog posts, today’s shirt pattern will fit vintage Skipper dolls if you use felt (which is typically quite stretchy) as your fabric. There are no seam allowances around the neck, arm holes, and at the bottom of the shirt, so it’s really only designed to be used with felt, which won’t require any hemming.
The skirt, on the other hand, is going to work for vintage Skipper if it’s made out of cotton, cotton-polyester blends, denim, and many other fabrics as well.
Today’s free patterns will fit the following dolls:
- Monster High female dolls
- 8 inch Bratz dolls
- 8 inch Breyer Rider dolls
- Ever After High dolls
- Kuu Kuu Harajuku dolls (9 and a half inch)
- Spin Master La Dee Da dolls (it fits loosely)
- Disney 9 and a half inch fairy dolls like Tinkerbell
- Mattel’s 9 inch Stacie dolls
- Hasbro World of Love vintage dolls
- vintage Sunshine Family dolls
Here’s the free printable PDF doll clothes sewing pattern for making today’s skirt and top combo outfit along with the tutorial videos you’ll need for your instructions:
- Free, printable PDF sewing pattern (use View B short skirt and View A, B, C bodice pieces)
- Free tutorial video showing you how to make the shirt (uses a slightly different pattern, but instructions are the same)
- Tutorial video showing how to sew the skirt
- Chelly’s whipstitch tutorial
- Tutorial video showing how to sew snaps on fabric
Are you wanting to buy some snaps for your doll clothes? I highly recommend Dritz snaps size 1/0 for this felt shirt project.
