Today I’m only offering a preview of this week’s project. Later this week, I’ll post my free printable sewing patterns for 6.5-inch American Girl Doll underpants / knickers. As is my habit, I’ll also be posting a free YouTube tutorial video showing how to make these adorable undies!

Want to make your own special request? I have a “Submit a Question” button where you can put in your order. Be advised, though… I do get a lot of requests, and it can take months to go from the drawing board to a finished, tested pattern and tutorial video.
My Ken doll dinner jacket pattern actually took me a couple of years and several failed prototypes before I got the pattern just right!
But when you do submit requests, it gets the cranks turning in my mind. I may think about the pattern idea that you’ve requested for a while, make a few physical sketches of it, and before long, the project is underway.
But of course, not all requests turn into patterns–for example, I may not own the doll you want me to create a pattern for–but a lot of them eventually do get posted as actual patterns.
Jeretta’s pattern request was a pretty easy pattern to make. I had one failed prototype — the first set of undies didn’t quite fit — but after that, I made some quick adjustments and it was smooth sailing from there on.
Tomorrow I’m going to give you a time-saving pointer about making tiny doll clothes, and in particular, these underpants and their accompanying accessories.

I found your website just last week! I love it! Thank you so much for the patterns, ideas, information about so many dolls, and your wonderful website! After many years I dug my old Barbies, Shirley Temple, Tammy, and other smaller dolls [circa 1960] out of storage. Most need lots of loving care and some new outfits. Just delighted that you have so many patterns. The little 6″ AG doll pattern will work for several of the smaller dolls I have. Wellie Wishers doll patterns for my 14.5″ Shirley Temple doll. Thank you so much for inspiring me–already made a little Barbie skirt that is a replica of an outfit I made for myself in 1968–will be making the top and jacket this week.
