Sew some summer dresses for vintage Pedigree Sindy dolls with today’s free doll clothes sewing patterns! #SewVintage #DollClothes

A vintage Sindy doll models a little short-skirted sun dress made of white cotton printed with tiny fruits like pineapples, watermelons, and grapefruits. The doll stands with her feet crossed at the ankles. She wears yellow loafers under her strappy short sundress. Her hair is dark brown and a little frizzy from the passage of time. Her blue eyes peer slightly to the viewers' left. Her hands are at her side.

For your free patterns and tutorial videos, please scroll down to the second set of bullets.

The tutorial for making today’s dress will only show you how to make this dress with a ribbon strap, so to create the cotton strap we see in the “fruity” sundress version shown at the top of this page, I recommend that you go to this tutorial for making my longer sun dress, and move forward in the video to timestamp 1:30 to see how to make your straps.

If you feel like being adventurous, you can also make your Pedigree Sindy doll a beach bag to go with her fruity sun dress! Just follow the guidelines in this tutorial video to make a beach bag to match your dress.

Here’s a Made-to-Move Barbie with one such beach bag:

In this close-up of the purse Barbie carries, we see the pink grapefruits, bright pink watermelons, leaf-topped cherries, and other fruits in closer detail on the fabric. Her little tiny Barbie-sized thumb is behind the strap of her purse, like a real woman would carry her purse. The ChellyWood.com logo is in the corner.

  1. Yay! A barbie-sized pattern on A4 paper-size! Greetings from Brasília, Brazil! I’ve been wanting to restart a doll collection for years, until last month I decided stop wishing and gave myself two Barbies as a birthday gift. Learning to sew is the next project. I am familiar with hand-stiching, exactly because I used to sew for dolls as a child, but I’ve always felt intimidated by a sewing machine. But let’s give it a try! I don’t think a sewing machine will bite! 🙂

  2. I just don’t intend to follow all the rules… Maybe cutting the bodice on felt and using ribbon straps would turn this project into an easier one
