A Hairmazing doll models a tee shirt and a striped pencil skirt with the key color being coral. The doll holds her hands out as if she's ready to give someone a hug. She faces forward with one leg crossed over the other. Her face looks slightly to the left of the viewer. She stands in a room with a purple splatter printed wall and a white floor. This week I’m giving you the free printable PDF sewing patterns for making the “business casual” style outfit shown at the top of this blog post.

A Hairmazing Fashion doll models a coral-grey-white-pink, striped pencil skirt and a coral-colored T-shirt. The pencil skirt has an elastic waist. The tee shirt is a crop top. She wears pink plastic platform sandals. She appears to be walking slightly to the left of the viewer, in a room with a purple spackled wall and a white floor. The doll has long brown hair with a blue streak. Her eyes are large and painted onto her face. Granted, these patterns have been available before, but since the Hairmazing Fashion Forward dolls have Barbie-sized hips with a Stacie-sized upper body, the top was designed to fit a smaller doll (6 inch American Girl, originally), while the skirt was designed (originally) to fit Barbie.

And yet this combo looks fabulous on my Hairmazing Fashion Forward doll! Thanks again to Chanda, my sister-in-law, for this wonderful gift and all the outfits she has inspired!

A Hairmazing Barbie sized doll models handmade doll clothes including a striped pencil skirt and a tee shirt. She walks in pink plastic sandals. She walks toward an unknown destination to the right of the viewer. If you’d like to make this outfit, you’ll need some jersey fabric, size 3/0 snaps, and 1/8 inch elastic.

In my humble opinion, the best brand for elastic comes from a company called Elastic by the Yard. When you buy your elastic from Elastic by the Yard, you help support a small business which was founded on American soil.

The image shows an African or African-American fashion doll from the lower torso down to her knees, and she wears a pair of red handmade underpants. Around her waist is a stretch of 1/8 inch wide white elastic. There's also an image of a cardboard spool of "Elastic by the Yard" beside the doll and a swatch of fabric that looks like a garment under construction. The text says, "doll-sized elastic."

If you navigate over to my online store, you’ll find that I have a link from there to Amazon’s Elastic by the Yard page, so you can click on “Shop” in the main menu here on ChellyWood.com during your visit to this website, and then purchase your elastic through my shop via Amazon, any day of the week.

Of course I do get a commission for sending you to the Elastic by the Yard page on Amazon, but I really do prefer their elastics, and in all honesty, I believe in supporting small businesses whenever I can.
