I bought these plastic skulls thinking I would make them into dolls.
Yes, you read that right.
I know what youāre thinking⦠āWhat on earth? Thatās crazy!ā Yeah. I know. š³

I was going to spray paint them white, so the teeth didnāt look so icky, then create a doll with a mouth that actually opens, with little plastic teeth inside. Looking back, I realize a doll whose mouth opens to expose real teeth might have been more disturbing than cuddly! What a crazy idea this was⦠Ugh.
So after several years of sitting in storage (well-sealed in a dry container), I decided to just sell the skulls around Halloween time, so someone could use them as party decorations, party favors, or Halloween party door prizes.
They are now 2 packages containing 6 skulls each and one additional opened package containing only 5 skulls, since I actually tried using one of the skulls for my wacky papier-mĆ¢chĆ© doll that didnāt turn out so great.
The cool thing about these skulls is that they have a joint, so the jaw can move up and down (stiffly).Ā Because they move at the jaw, my āPlan Bā was to use them as a framework for a marionette puppet, but I never got around to trying them out for that purpose either.
From the top of the head to the tip of the jaw, theyāre a little longer than 3 inches, but on other websites, theyāre advertised as having a 3 inch skull diameter. Thatās pretty close to accurate.
I paid a lot more than Iām asking for them, and if you look up ā3 inch skulls set of 6ā on Amazon, youāll see that they cost about $10 for one bag of 6. Mine is a set of 17 skulls in total, and Iām asking less than a dollar a piece ($15.50 is my ābuy it nowā price on eBay) even though theyāre pretty much brand new and donāt smell musty or anything. They just smell like plastic. No dust, no marks. So I think Iām offering a pretty good deal, even with the shipping cost.
But if you go put in a bid right now, the starting bid is only $7.99 for all 17 of them. It may never go higher. In fact, I wouldnāt be at all surprised if I end up not selling these. If that ends up being the case, Iām just going to donate them to a local second-hand store while itās still possible for them to be sold for Halloween.
The mesh bag has been cut open on one set of 6 (see the red arrow in the photo below) because I tried to use that one with my doll-making failed project, and be advised that Iām not selling my blue cutting mat which appears in that photo. But I will send the skulls to you in their mesh bags, with the labels. The labels state that these are not meant to be used as a childās toy (see photos).
Each skull has a hole in the bottom, which is exactly how they came to me. Itās not a defect, just a manufacturing anomaly. Feel free to ask me any questions you have or suggest a price you think is fair. Hereās the link to this item on eBay.
