Please Recommend a Website for Doll Crafters

Please excuse the mess while my website, ChellyWood.com, is under construction. The image shows a jumble of electrical cords attached to a computer screen that offers some sort of paper pattern like the paper doll clothes patterns that followers of ChellyWood.com can print and download for sewing projects.

Today I’d like to look at some of the creators and websites that inspire my doll clothes and doll craft designs.

I’d also like to hear from you… Which doll collectors and doll crafters’ websites do you frequent online? Let us know in the comments!

If you’re looking for inspiration, Pinterest has a plethora of doll craft ideas (and some free patterns) that can fill your mind with the many possible ways to dress your dolls.

Please visit ChellyWood.com for free printable PDF sewing patterns and tutorial videos for making doll clothes to fit dolls of many shapes and all different sizes.

Do you wish you had a place to show off your creations? Try Instagram. It’s not just for folks who love dolls, but you can also display paper crafts, crochet projects, plushies, miniatures, and so much more!

Instagram, I’ve found, is most useful for users of mobile phones, rather than desktop computers.

I haven’t been on Instagram as much lately, but I’d like to jump back into it. My Instagram account is used for the early stages of my projects. If you’d like to see what inspires my patterns, you might consider following me there.

Does your Barbie need some furniture? My Froggie Stuff offers fantastic video tutorials that demonstrate how to make everything from a bedroom set to a living room fireplace.

Another place I like to visit is Etsy. This is a place where seamstresses (like me) can sell their doll clothes creations (and anything else you make for your dolls). You can buy or sell your own doll clothes patterns there, home-made doll shoes and accessories, and doll furniture items.

Have you seen that tall wooden hutch in my Romeo and Juliet with Dolls stop motion video? I bought that on Etsy!

Etsy also offers tiny buttons, handmade labels, and doll-sized zippers, for those of us who like to add tiny details to our doll clothes sewing projects.

Most seamstresses know about JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts, but did you know they have a website where you can download coupons and see their latest products? Here’s a link to JoAnn’s online store.

Spoonflower is a website where you can buy fabric with unusually tiny print. Having trouble finding a pinstripe that’s narrow enough to make Ken a 1940’s-style zoot suit? Spoonflower is the place to go!

Do you have a favorite online place you can recommend? Does your own website offer something that sewists and/or doll collectors might like to know about? Please leave a link in the comments.
