Please keep me in your prayers everyone.
I spent two days in the hospital before the doctors discovered that I have West Nile Virus.
I’m back at home now, but like “Long Covid,” the after effects of West Nile Virus can lead to long-term complications.
Right now I’m on strict bed rest, so I’ll be “out of the office” for a while, as far as this website and my YouTube channel goes.
It’s weird to be at home but not using my sewing room.
I have to look in there when I get up to use the bathroom, and my little sewing table and ironing board look like they were abandoned in the middle of some sort of apocalypse.
Because the hospital performed what’s called a “spinal tap” on my nervous system, and because my recovery from the spinal tap surgery isn’t going as smoothly as it should be, I’m not allowed to sit upright, like I would need to, when using a sewing machine.
Everything I do to entertain myself has to be done while I sit in an easy chair, reclined at a 30 degree angle. Ugh!
But as you may have heard, West Nile Virus can be deadly. It can also lead to things like paralysis. So I have to follow the doctor’s orders.
What can I do? I’ve made a shortlist, a sort of hopeful set of goals, while I’m stuck at home:
You might be wondering what you can do to help.
Prayers.
Pray for my full recovery.
Pray for strength and courage because I’m in a lot of pain.
Pray for support from my family and community.
Pray that I will be strong enough to take care of me, when all I want to do is go back to my job and be a wife and mother, and feed my little kitty cats, and make crafty doll-related things, and be up out of bed and doing productive stuff.
It’s really HARD to just sit around, but please pray that I’ll do just that.
