Tomorrow is June 4th, which means we citizens of the United States of America have about one month before we celebrate a nation-wide holiday: Independence Day!
So now’s the time to start your 4th of July sewing and craft projects, my fellow Americans! Let’s celebrate the 4th by sewing a patriotic skirt for our little 6-inch American Girl Mini dolls!
For those of you who are not in the US, this week’s skirt project can easily be made into a variety of patterns and styles:
Don’t you just love that little pink one with the hipster glasses trim? I found the fabric and trim at JoAnn’s Fabric and Crafts, in the clearance bins. How lucky is that!?!
So what’s on this week’s agenda? I’m going to post the pattern for the skirt, plus a tutorial for the skirt.
And tomorrow I’ll address a question that one of our followers had for #TapeMeasureTuesday… Dodi asked, “Can you put the measurements for Barbie? I have a customer who wants to start sewing clothes.”
Well, that request is long overdue! How right you are, Dodi! #TapeMeasureTuesday will offer measurements for Barbie this week.
And Friday I will offer a new tutorial for a basic sewing concept that may have baffled some of you beginners: basting. (It’s easier than you might think!)
