Well… If you read yesterday’s blog post, then you’ve already seen pretty much everything I’m posting today. However, I will need a page that links from the Tammy doll clothes pattern gallery to the underwear patterns for Tammy.

You might say, “But Sindy’s underwear page has the exact same patterns!” and you would be absolutely right (see images below, showing both Sindy and Tammy in the same underpants). When people navigate from the gallery page to the underwear pattern page, though, they get really confused if they aren’t aware that Sindy and Tammy can wear a lot of the same patterns.

So today’s blog post highlights Ideal Tammy all by herself.

To make today’s underpants for your Ideal Tammy dolls, you will need some jersey fabric and a swatch of 1/4 inch wide (6 mm wide) picot lingerie elastic. For your jersey fabric, you can use an old tee shirt, as long as it has a fair amount of stretch to it.

To make the reversible summer top (vest/tank top), you’ll need cotton solid fabric, cotton small-print fabric, and some size 3/0 Dritz snaps.

I actually made my summer top out of vintage flannel, but looking back, I don’t recommend that. It was too thick. I think the all-cotton top that I made for Sindy looks a lot nicer, less bulky.

Take a look at the straps in the images above, and I think you’ll agree. The all-cotton top that Sindy is modeling has straps that lay flat against her shoulders, while Tammy’s flannel ones pop out above her shoulders sort of weirdly.

In my underpants DIY video, I also mention Fiskars’ Stitchers for snipping around corners. They’re an incredibly helpful tool!

I haven’t tried my doll clothes on this newer version, but sewists have told me my Tammy doll patterns do fit the vintage Sindy dolls created by Pedigree Dolls & Toys.
