Sew a summer crop top and shorts for Lammily with today’s free PDF sewing patterns @ ChellyWood.com #SummersOver #DollClothesPatterns

On a purple cotton fabric background (with tiny white polka dots), the words "free pattern" overshadow a photo of a Lammily doll wearing a black felt crop top shirt and a pair of purple floral shorts with black plastic shoes. The doll stands beside a 1:6 scale brick wall. At her feet is a concrete sidewalk. The entire image is a square, with the Chelly Wood dot com logo in the lower left corner.

Today’s “end-of-summer” outfit is one we’ve seen on this website before, but this is the first time I’ve offered it as a free printable PDF sewing pattern for Lammily. In the past, it was only available as a JPG image.

Now please note that the shorts pattern was originally designed to fit Curvy Barbie, not Lammily, so I recommend using stretchy jersey fabric instead of cotton, to make these high-waisted shorts.

My pretty purple floral shorts went over Lammily’s hips, but it wasn’t an easy fit.

So I think that if you make the shorts out of jersey fabric instead of cotton, you’ll have a much easier time dressing her. Make sure the primary stretch to your jersey fabric goes the right direction to shimmy over her curvaceous hips!

The shirt is made of craft felt, which is cheap and easy enough to come by, but a lot of people don’t realize how much “give” a swatch of felt can offer! It’s partly due to the craft felt’s “give” that I was able to wrap this made-for-Barbie felt top around Lammily’s significant bust.

Of course, if you’ve taken my “How to Alter Doll Clothes Patterns” course on Creative Spark’s online learning platform, then you won’t have any trouble making some alterations to this felt shirt. You can lengthen it, give it a gusset, and maybe even use measurements to adjust the overall size of the shirt pattern so that you could use cotton to make this top.

For those of you who are just learning to sew, though, stick with felt for your shirts, please! Otherwise, I don’t think today’s shirt pattern will fit Lammily properly without that extra “give” that the felt offers.

You’ll also need some size 4/0 snaps for both the shorts’ closure and the back of the shirt.

Today’s patterns will fit these dolls:
