I had a lot of fun making these doll clothes and trying them on different dolls, including my little 11 inch Strawberry Shortcake doll.
This is the same Strawberry Shortcake doll that I rescued from a Goodwill. You may recall that she had some rubber toys tangled up in her hair:
To look at her now, you’d never guess she’s the same doll!
To make the fashions you see in the photo above, you’ll want to make your shorts out of cotton solid fabric and your top out of cotton small-print fabric, but you could also get creative and mix your patterns and solids for a whole new look.
You’ll also need to buy some 1/8 inch elastic (for the casing in the shorts).
Today’s patterns will fit these dolls*:

- Rainbow High 10 and a half inch dolls
- Strawberry Shortcake 10 and 3/4 inch dolls
- vintage Vogue Ginny 8 inch (20 cm) dolls
- Disney princess 10 inch dolls

**Please note: there’s a pants pattern that goes with the shorts pattern, but these pants will not fit your Strawberry Shortcake doll.

According to Wikipedia (as of 9 January 2022), Strawberry Shortcake “is a cartoon character used in greeting cards published by American Greetings. The line was later expanded to include dolls… The franchise is currently owned by the Canadian children’s television company WildBrain and American brand management company, Iconix Brand Group through the holding company Shortcake IP Holdings LLC.” I was unable to find a website for Shortcake IP Holdings LLC, but I believe they own the US trademark for the dolls, even though I believe my own doll was originally made and marketed by Hasbro.
