Yesterday I posted my first pattern for the Mattel’s Heart Family Barbie baby dolls. Today I’m posting a long-sleeved dress that will also fit this little baby doll from the Heart family collection.

For this project, you’ll need some craft felt for the bodice (use Bodices E and F), a bit of 1/4 inch folded bias tape, some small print cotton fabric for the skirt, and some size 1/0 Dritz snaps.

You’ll be using the bias tape to trim the sleeves and the bottom of the skirt. I do have a tutorial that teaches you how to apply bias tape, if you feel like you could use a lesson or a review:

Please be advised that the doll shown on the actual PDF sewing pattern in this dress is a Chelsea doll, but as you can see in my second photograph (below), the same dress also fits the Heart Family baby dolls:

In fact, I posted the pattern for Chelsea just last week. Here’s an image of a Chelsea doll wearing the same dress:

Remember that post? Notice that the sleeves and skirt are shorter on Chelsea, but she still looks absolutely adorable in this dress!

So really, today’s free pattern is ideal for any kids who love to play with the little “child” dolls from the Mattel Barbie line. However, today’s dress pattern won’t fit the modern Barbie baby dolls, as they are much smaller than the Heart Family baby dolls.

Which dolls will fit these doll clothes?
