Let’s make a pleated skirt for 18 inch dolls #sewingismypassion #DollClothes

The image shows a purple dotted swiss fabric background in a square shape. The photo within that shape shows an American Girl doll with brown complexion from the torso down to her feet. She wears a felt shirt, a blue plaid skirt with a ruffle that has been sewn in the form of knife pleats, and a pair of patent leather tan Mary Jane shoes. The overlay says, "free pattern" with an arrow pointing to the cotton skirt with pleats. There's also a watermark on the image, reminding us to visit Chelly Wood dot com for all our free printable PDF sewing patterns for making doll clothes to fit dolls of many shapes and all different sizes.

Today’s free argyle skirt pattern has been available on my website for some time now, but today is the first time I’ve offered this project for 18 inch dolls.

For today’s doll clothes sewing project, you’ll need some small-print plaid cotton fabric, some straight pins, and 1/4 inch elastic for the waist.

Please note that the free patterns I’m giving you today are spliced from a different area of this website, so the skirt pattern comes with a pattern for the wrong size shirt. Just ignore that shirt pattern, okay?

Tomorrow I’ll post a pattern for another shirt that will definitely fit your 18 inch dolls.

Today’s free printable PDF doll clothes sewing patterns will fit the following dolls:
