I’m re-posting this ken suit pattern page because I’ve updated two of the tutorial videos.
This was originally part of a wedding set for Tall Barbie and Fashionista Ken, but as you’ll see in the first bulleted list below, the wedding ensemble for Ken will fit a number of different dolls.

With that said, you’ll need several fabrics and notions to make this outfit for Ken.
I recommend using a solid cotton fabric for your doll or action figure’s pants, shirt, and tie. I used Dritz quarter-inch-wide elastic for the waistband in my doll’s pants, and it is a sturdy choice.
The tie uses 1/8 inch elastic. If you look very closely at the images above and below, you’ll see that elastic is what’s holding his tie on, under the collar of Ken’s shirt:
To make the felt jacket, you’ll need craft felt, 1/4 inch double-fold bias tape, and size 3/0 snaps. The snaps will also be used for your shirt’s front closure.
My coat also has two very small buttons on the front. The buttons are optional though. If you want to see lots of doll button options, be sure to visit my online store.
And in some of my tutorial videos (there are links below), I also recommended purchasing a pair of Fiskars Stitchers mini scissors, for clipping small seams like the crotch of the pants, the neckline of the collared shirt, and the underarm area of the felt jacket.

- Shirt requires solid cotton fabric and size 3/0 snaps
- Tie requires cotton-polyester blend fabric and 1/8 inch wide elastic
The outfit looks fabulous in black, if you’re doing a wedding set, but you may also want to make it in blue, if your Ken doll just wants to look extra dapper for a night on the town.
