I first posted this poncho pattern here, on ChellyWood.com, in celebration of Kwanzaa. But that earlier post only offered the poncho pattern as a JPG image.

Today I’m giving you the poncho pattern as a free printable PDF sewing pattern, and yes it is reversible! It will also fit your Lammily dolls.

If you’re not familiar with the Lammily dolls, they have a wonderful story. Click here to learn more about them.

And in fact, I designed some of their earliest commercial patterns, which are still for sale on the Lammily website. Click here to see their patterns.

Yes, before there was Curvy Barbie, there was Lammily, and I’m very proud to have taken part in the movement that literally RE-SHAPED fashion dolls for the better! Lammily is still offering their dolls at very reasonable prices, and I would highly advise purchasing one for a little girl you know.

Their message is clear: you don’t have to be a toothpick-skinny girl to be beautiful, adventurous, and amazing!

These dolls are posable and remarkably photogenic.

Back in 2015, I took my Lammily dolls with me to Paris, where I did a number of amazing photo shoots with them in unforgettable places. Have a look at this one, taken at Versailles:

To make my African print Kwanzaa poncho, you’ll need some small-print African-style cotton fabricfringe, and solid-color cotton fabric. There’s also an optional pom-pom edging on the flip side of my poncho, because it’s reversible, as you’ll see in the image below:
