Today I’m giving you the pattern for the whole outfit at the top of the blog post, and a new tutorial video showing you how to make the leaf-print below-the-knee skirt.
Here’s today’s super easy-to-sew tutorial for making the skirt:
The tank top worn by my Stacie doll is perfect for my friends and followers who live in the earth’s Southern Hemisphere because it’s spring there! But if you live in the Northern Hemisphere (like I do), you might want to make a shirt with sleeves instead. If that’s what you’d like to make, you can find one in my Stacie doll pattern gallery.
For this outfit, you’ll need cotton small print fabric, a solid white cotton fabric (for the shirt), size 4/0 Dritz snaps for the shirt closure, and 1/4 inch elastic for the skirt’s casing.
If you like the look of purple polka dot cotton fabric for the tank top (shown below), this link will get you to the exact same fabric I used for my tank top.
Fabric with polka dots is so versatile! It looks good as a secondary fabric to a lot of things… I use it for sleeves, pinafores, petticoats, coordinating hats, and more!
