When my oldest daughter was in middle school, about 8 or 10 years ago, she was a big fan of Breyer model horses and Breyer Rider dolls. That’s when I made a lot of these doll clothes for the Breyer riders.
Back in those days, my website was more of a sewing journal than a place for people to locate free patterns. So my patterns were hand-drawn and they didn’t have all the instructions that I place on patterns today.
Well I’ve added a few instructions to today’s free pattern, but the original hand-drawn shapes remain. I hope you don’t mind.

Since this “pioneer dress” uses a lot of lace, I’m planning to post a YouTube tutorial tomorrow that offers tips on sewing with lace. Hopefully you’ll enjoy that.
Today’s project will require the use of a printed cotton fabric, a solid cotton fabric, some lace trim, and size 1/0 Dritz snaps.
