#TapeMeasureTuesday: What are the modern Skipper doll’s #sewing measurements?

Please visit ChellyWood.com for FREE printable sewing patterns to fit dolls of many shapes and sizes.

Not only does the Barbie pajama pattern fit Skipper, but as you can see in the image above, the shorts I designed to fit Barbie will also fit Skipper.

However if you want the waist to fit Skipper snugly, you should really measure Skipper’s waist for your elastic when you make the shorts, not Barbie’s. Skipper’s waist is 8 cm in circumference, whereas my MTM Barbie’s waist is 8.8 cm.

Here are Skipper’s measurements for sewing purposes (seam allowances not included):

The date on my skipper doll is 2010, so she’s nearly a decade old. She’s also one of those rare Skipper dolls with jointed knees (see image above).

If your Skipper is vintage, she will definitely have different measurements; however for the most part, I don’t think Skipper’s dimensions have changed much since 2010. I challenge you to set me straight if I’m wrong here…

If any of you would like to measure your Skipper and add a date (found on Skipper’s back or behind usually), to clarify different measurements, feel free to leave a comment so everyone can see what you’ve found. We will all benefit from these slight variations in the dolls’ body measurements!
