Help me choose the topic of my next Creative Spark class! #DollClothesPatterns #SmallTalk

In this photo, the Chelly Wood doll (actually a Spin Master Liv doll that has had its face re-painted and its wig dyed grey to look like the doll clothing designer, YouTuber, and writer Chelly Wood) stands in her sewing room with her arms spread out wide in a welcoming stance. On the doll's right (your left) we see her hutch filled with tiny folded fabrics. There's a window directly behind her. At her side is her sewing desk with tiny fabrics, a miniature sewing machine, and other sewing supplies on top. To her left (your right) behind the doll, there's a sea blue mannequin displaying an in-progress sun dress with a tape measure around the mannequin's neck. Hanging from a sea blue hanger on the wall is the white party dress with tiny polka dots that often appears in Chelly's videos on the mannequin. The floor is hard wood. The wall is purple. Chelly's desk chair has been upholstered in sea blue fabric. In the corner of the image is the logo for ChellyWood.com

In January, I finished my first Creative Spark class, and I’ve learned a lot about online classes along the way. The folks at Creative Spark would like me to teach another class, but what would YOU like me to teach next?

Please use this form to cast your vote:

These images represent examples, showing what’s meant by each of the options in the survey…

I now know that the cost of the class depends upon how many videos I make. Each video is considered a lesson, in and of itself, so if I create 10 videos, that’s 10 lessons.

The pricing scale seems to be related to the number of videos I provide for my class. So to keep the price down, I’m going to limit how many videos I make, for my future courses.

My current class, “How to Alter Doll Clothes Patterns” offers 50 videos, which translated as $50 for the whole course — well, really $49.99. That’s about a dollar per lesson.

But the “How to Alter Doll Clothes Patterns” course offers so much! In this class, I show you how to alter shirt patterns, pants and shorts patterns, skirts, and even dresses. That’s a lot of stuff! I suppose that’s why it ended up costing almost $50 instead of the $25 I was shooting for.

In the next round of classes, I’ll try to limit the number of lessons to 25 or less, so it will be more affordable for those of you on a really tight budget.

If there’s a lesson you’d like me to add to the next survey, please leave a comment below. Also, if you have comments to add about the survey options, don’t hesitate to type those into the comment section also. I really want to teach topics that truly interest all of you!

  1. Hi, Chelly
I voted for pants because I am really into boy dolls now and find most patterns are for 18″ dolls only.

I really enjoyed your class but haven’t left a review yet because I had planned on going back and re-doing all of it even though I have most of the patterns required for the hands-on part.

My real goal is to be able to take an existing pattern or picture & know what to do to get that for the particular doll I am working with. Example: I have just purchased all 3 boy Mini-pals from Maru & Friends & finding it quite difficult to find patterns since most 13″ dolls are girls.

If Creative Spark is asking for another class, they must deem you a successful creator. May the Lord continue to bless you in your endeavor going forward.

    1. Oh! I’m so glad you enjoyed my class! Please do take the time to leave a review. This helps other people to decide whether or not to sign up.

I’m so flattered that you’re going to go back to the class and re-do the whole thing! I really tried to make it both educational and FUN! If you’re going back for more, that must mean it managed to hit both of those targets.
